Fixed Braces

Fixed braces are probably the first treatment that come to mind when you think of visiting the orthodontist. As the name suggests, you keep these braces on for the entirety of your treatment.

Fixed braces are made by gluing brackets to the teeth. These can be made from metal, plastic or ceramic. Once these are in place, we attach a flexible wire to the brackets, which is tightened to help shift teeth into the correct position over time. On average, treatment with fixed braces lasts around 18 months, with 6 to 8 weekly check ups so we can monitor your progress and tighten the braces when needed.
